Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how The Gallery (the “Site”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use it to build a photographic wall from your Google Photos library.
1. What this Site does
The Gallery is a purely static, client-side web page. It lets you select photographs from your own Google Photos account and display them as a framed museum–style wall in your browser. There is no server or database behind this Site.
2. Information we process
Google Photos selection
When you choose photographs, we use the Google Photos Picker API, which opens Google Photos so you can select which items to share. The Google Photos Picker API returns to the Site only the specific media items you chose — not your full library — along with a temporary access token used to fetch those items.
Local storage on your device
The set of image URLs you have selected is stored in your
browser’s localStorage so that your gallery wall
persists when you return. This data stays on your device and is
never transmitted to us.
3. How we use information
- To display your selected photos on the gallery wall.
- To persist your wall locally between visits.
We do not use your photos, selection history, or personal data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than operating the Site’s gallery feature.
4. Sharing of information
We do not sell, transfer, or share your personal data or your photographs with any third parties. The only external service involved is Google (via the Google Photos Picker API), which processes your selection solely to provide the picking feature you initiate. Your photos remain in your Google Photos account and are not copied to us.
5. Retention
We retain no copies of your photos or personal data. Your selected
image references remain only in your browser’s
localStorage until you clear it or delete them from the
wall. The temporary OAuth/access tokens are short-lived and are discarded
after use.
6. Your choices
You can remove any photograph from the wall at any time, and you can clear the saved wall by clearing your browser’s site data. You can revoke the Site’s access to your Google Photos at any time from your Google account permissions page.
7. Children’s privacy
This Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly process data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective date.”
9. Contact
For questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact the site owner at the address shown on your site’s homepage.
